two worlds same happiness

It was one of the traditional Chinese festival on Sunday. Most call Feb 2nd (Chinese calender) is the day when dragons lift up their heads. So on that day, the custom is that most people have their hair cut in order to have a productive new year. Usually the hair salons will be full of people who are waiting to cut their hair.

At home people eat home-made dumplings. Last year when I was still in my university in China,I  gathered all of my classmates and organized that at residence. All of my classmates are from other cities while I was studying at the university in my hometown. Since I thought they might miss home a lot at that time of year, I didn't go home but stayed with them. Some of us went to go shopping in order to get the materials we need and others talked with a restaurant to ask whether we could cook the dumplings their. We had a good time making dumplings by ourselves.

This year I am far away from those guys. They still hold the dumpling party and sent their miss to me when I called.

No matter where I am you guys are always my family. Best luck for all of u this semester

dance workshop

I went to the workshop this afternoon on campus.Juat around 30 people or so.The instructor is Kareline, a nice girl.In order to relax I talked to several girls and got to know them along with the courses.I've never studied dancing professionally before, nd evything seemed pretty new and interesting to me.After 2 hours , I was all wet and tired. It seems that I need more exercise.

2weeks ago I left a message on the forum of the hip-hop and funk style club. Those guys were very nice, they added me on facebook, encourage me to take part in activities.Especially Gabe, a very nice Bboy who's from HongKong, he sent me e-mails and let me make up my mind finally to make a move rather than just watching..to be frank I have been watching that forum for a long time.I went to meet those guys and learned breakin for the first time in my life.

When I woke up this morning I saw Gabe left me message on my wall and called him. And 1 hour later, I was there, meeting new friends and enjoy poppin.

My roommate said it is really a boring place. Actually, that was what I really thought for the first 2 or 3 months. Now I have made friends at work, during activities and even on facebook. I work 9hours a week just in order to have fun. I hold activities like skating and swimming to gather friends and drive them out of getting bored. Now I' can't wait to go to the next workshop.

It won't help if I just sit there missing my old dudes. Make new friends and have new fun. yoho. life is more than perfect! Isn't it?

nothing perfect

I was not surprised to know that the students from Lecture 2 were going to complain about their teacher. In fact all of the students have heard too much bout that from them.

In my opinion. It is dangerous and risky. If they succeed, congratulations; if not, WOW... suicide guys...

And, it's childish.

I have to say I am lucky that I have always been in the best class since I was first to school. In China , I was in the best class in the whole school from elementary school to university. When I came to Canada, in ESL program, I had Murray as my grammar teacher, Dora as my reading and writing teacher, and Karen as my listening and speaking teacher. Now I have Scott and Murray. I am a lucky dog. HOWEVER, the fact is that I usually got better marks in the subject that was taught by unpopular teachers, especially in high school. I did not care too much about what others thought about the teacher, and the shortcomings of  that teacher. So when they  were complaining about that teacher I quickly adjust myself to his or her teaching style. Well, nobody is perfect, teachers are humans too. Being students even we, ourselves are not perfect why should we ask for a perfect teacher? Even you did not behave well in class, have your teachers asked to kick you out of the school? Never. It is their job to help us with our studies and in turn, it is our responsibility to be a good student.
There are always reasons that why the teacher is in school even though in sb's opinion he or she doesn't fit that job. But the truth is he or she loves teaching. Maybe he or she just hasn't found the most effective to teach, but everyone deserves time to improve themselves don't we?
I fell like I can feel the pain which will hurt her several days later. I do not think a teacher should be like that, racist, lack patience though.

       Anyway,
      Respect. Support. Advice.
      Complain. Conflict.
      What can make life easier?

presentation and mid-term

It was really a short week because of the tests and presentation.
I felt something changed during my test, for instance, the writngting test.I ususally did a draft before I wrote the final copy, well,at least a draft in mind.I knew how to do a brain storm but I just couldn't get used to it.But this time, I did a brainstorm and I didn't write a draft at all. What surprised me more was that I didn't feel hard to write 400words,in fact,I wrote much more than that.Maybe I'm making progress I guess.
When talking about the presentation, being part of the audience I felt very dissappointed.Compared to What my classmate did in the ESL programm last semester, this time was really boring.I can stil remember how fantastic my dear friends did in that programm.Yes, thier English was not as good as my classmates here. But they did it very attractive.I mean, they put effert in it.They showed their enthusiasm and passion. However, nobody seems to be interested in presentation here.I guess it is because of the pressure. Those guys in ESL learnt for fun at that time. ....miss them a lot.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, I also heard something very bad happened in my friends' class.Someone's cell phone rang during the listening test!what?!the third one...that could be regarded as crime!!!She didin't even turn it off immidiately ?Even didn't say sorry to the classmetes after the test?!!!
What the hell was that?BTW ,that test was really hard.Bad Murray ,he's going to kill us...
Anyway, the reading week is coming.
Have a good time everyone.C ya soon.

what a weekend

Didn't go skating or swimming last week,I planned to do at least one kind of sport or activity this weekend. Not only to keep healthy but also release the mental pressure I've been suffering these days.  But as what things usually happen to me, it seems I'll do nothing but a busy boring weekend.

First, the homework.I have to finish typing my research project . Yes,type. When I told my friends at home that almost every homework we've done here needs good copy, they were all surprised. Why do we have to type them out?Easy for teachers to read and mark. We've paid a lot of  money to study here and now we need to pay more for the paper. I don't know why are Canadians so confident about their paper production, how they know that after hundreds of years they still have so many trees. Whatever, that's not our trees. For us Chinese, well ,we don't care about the money,we do care about the trees and the next and next and next generation.

Second, I'm now working at the Starbucks. One of my co-work doesn't feel well today, so I offered my help and took her shift, which means I have to work 3 more hours today. What  confused me is that there were so many people coming for coffee today. What happened?I even wanted to go outside and check whether there's a poster "free coffee today" or not. Next week I'll probably drink before I go to work.

Anyway,mid-term's coming next week.I have to change my mood and get ready for it.
gotta work

Where is our Spring Festival?

As everybody knows, the Spring Festival is the most important festival for all of the Chinese. No matter we are at the North Pole or on MARS,we manage our way home! It's time for home!Family! What else can be more important than family? We've already left our family, why must we drop the custom of our country?

Just imagine what if you guys do not have Christmas!

It's unfair.
It's almost kind of political control.

I hate it.
very much.
